1. About PagePulse
PagePulse is a free Chrome extension developed by HeadshotSpecialist.com. It analyzes websites for SEO, links, images, and schema data, and provides AI-powered recommendations to help improve website performance.
2. Data Collection
PagePulse does not collect any personal or sensitive user data. Specifically, we do not collect:
- Your name, email address, or any personal identifiers
- Your browsing history or activity
- Your IP address or location data
- Cookies or tracking identifiers
- Financial or payment information
- Authentication credentials
- Any data from websites you visit
3. Data Handling
When you click “Analyze Website”, PagePulse reads publicly visible information from the current webpage — such as page title, meta tags, heading structure, links, and images. This data is processed entirely within your local browser and is never transmitted to our servers or stored anywhere.
No data is retained after you close the extension popup. Each analysis is independent and nothing is saved between sessions.
4. Data Storage
PagePulse stores no data locally or remotely. We do not use Chrome storage APIs, cookies, IndexedDB, or any other storage mechanism. No information persists after the extension popup is closed.
5. Data Sharing
PagePulse does not share any data with third parties, with one exception outlined below.
6. AI Recommendations & Third Party Services
When you click “Get AI Recommendations”, the following publicly visible page data is sent to the Anthropic Claude API:
- Page URL
- Page title and meta description
- Heading counts (H1, H2, H3)
- Link counts (total, internal, external)
- Image counts and missing alt text count
- Word count and script count
- Schema types detected
No personally identifiable information is ever sent. This data is sent solely to generate SEO recommendations. Anthropic’s privacy policy governs how they handle this data: anthropic.com/privacy.
7. Permissions Justification
PagePulse requests the following Chrome permissions and uses them solely as described:
- activeTab — Required to read publicly visible SEO data from the current webpage when the user clicks “Analyze Website”. This permission is only active when the user explicitly triggers an analysis.
- scripting — Required to execute the analysis function on the current page to extract SEO data such as headings, links, images, and meta tags.
- host permission (api.anthropic.com) — Required to send page SEO data to the Claude AI API to generate actionable recommendations. This connection is only made when the user explicitly clicks “Get AI Recommendations”.
8. Children’s Privacy
PagePulse is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our extension, please contact us immediately.
9. Security
Since PagePulse does not collect or store any user data, there is no risk of data breach or unauthorized access to personal information through our extension. All analysis is performed locally within your browser.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
